                      BAD BREATH /HALITOSIS;

                     It is an unpleasant smell from the mouth or oral cavity.

            There are three main catagories of Halitosis,


              1)Genuine halitosis (badbreath)

              2)Pseudo-halitosis

              3)Halitophobia

                               CAUSES;

• DECREASED SALIVARY FLOW
• SMOKING
• UNDER MEDICATIONS
• SYSTEMIC DISEASES (diabetes,infections,ulcerations)
• BACTERIAL INFECTIONS.(porphyromonas gingv,etc)
• DRY MOUTH
• PERIODONTAL INFECTIONS  

Rx,              TREATMENT OF BAD BREATH;

• Tongue scrabbing,
• rendering maloderous gases nonvolatile
• oral rinses,
• chlorhexidine mouth washes
• check medical health status such as, tonsils,Lung disease,gasterointestinal diseases,.moniter diabetic health status ,Blood glucose level.
