EFFECT ON TEETH:

Smoking or chewing tobacco can severely damage your teeth over time.

STAINS: People who chewing or smoking with tobacco tend to have Yellow colour to dark brown stains sometimes even black coloured Teeth.

CAVITIES: Chronic smokers may complain dry mouth as smoking is also responsible for making the salvia thickness.

                       This restricts it from flowing over the surface of the teeth and allows the bacteria , to stay longer on the teeth,Leading to cavities.

EFFECT ON GUMS:

GUM INFLAMMATION:

Smoking and tobacco allow plaque and calculus (stains and deposits) to build over the surface of the teeth,which leads to gum inflammation and loosening of thr teeth and bad breath.

LOSS OF TASTE:

Tobacco can change the structureof finger like papillae ,which is present n the surface of the tongue.

ORAL CANDIDIASIS:

Smoking can lead to candidiasis,a fungal infection which looks like a  white leathery patch .

HAIRY TONGUE:

Smoking can cause the tongue papillae to overgrow,which makes the upper surfaces of the tongue appear black with hair like projections on it.

PRECANCEROUS CONDITIONS:

Tobacco can lead role of Precancerous conditions,LIKE

• LEUKOPLAKIA: It is white patches that is present on the skin of thee cheecks and floor of the mouth.

• ORAL SUBMUCOSAL FIBROSIS
• ERYTHROPLAKIA
• LICHEN PLANUS
• CANDIDAL LEUKOPLAKIA ,, (etc)

After the precancerous Lesions will lead to ORAL CANCER.
