Why teeth cleaning is Important ?

Dental health is essential for general health and quality of life. It is a state of being free from mouth and facial pain, oral and throat cancer, oral infections and sores, periodontal disease, tooth decay, tooth loss, and other diseases and disorders that limit an individual’s capacity to bite, chew, smile, and speak; it affects psychosocial well-being too.  

 

WHAT IS DENTAL SCALING:

Teeth scaling is a procedure used to eliminate tartar which is also frequently known as plaque or calculus to avert periodontal diseases. There are many causes for the plaque to develop like sugar laced foods, improper brushing techniques, coloured liquids, poor oral care, etc. The scaling treatment will remove the brown spots or yellowish texture which has developed on your teeth or even some white sticky substance.

Periodontal disease is very common and are caused by bacteria. An enabling atmosphere is provided by tartar and calculus for the bacteria to prosper inside the mouth cause further complications. As mentioned above, scaling along with root planning are performed to get rid of calculus and tartar.   1. Avoid cavities and tooth decay: Tooth decay and cavities are the starting point of any major dental issue so teeth scaling will you to prevent these. The cavities become the host for plaque and damage the enamel layer of the teeth which is the hardest part of your teeth. So, imagine what further damage it can do! Plaque is nothing but white sticky substance layered on your teeth. A visit to dentist for scaling every 6 months will help to keep plaque at bay along with proper oral hygiene like brushing twice a day and flossing.
